Is camp still just one week?
Our Summer 2027 season now runs 5 weeks total (June 7–July 7). Weeks 1–4 each feature a different academy for middle & high schoolers, and Week 5 is our new Elementary STEM Sampler for younger campers. See the full weekly schedule on our Summer Camps page.
What happens when a session is full?
Each camp week and adult workshop session is capped at 8 registrants. Once a session fills up, it's marked "Seats Full" on the site, and clicking it takes you to our waitlist form. Waitlist spots are offered in the exact order people join — you'll see your position number right after signing up, and we'll reach out the moment a spot opens.
Where are the camps and workshops held?
Summer Camps and Adult Workshops are hosted at Camp Genius, 155 Lee Street, Johnston, SC 29832. Teacher PD works differently — we travel to your school or district site, so there's no need to arrange transportation for staff.
What ages are the summer academies for?
Weeks 1–4 (AI Explorer, Future Coders, Digital Creator, Maker Lab) are designed for middle & high school students. Week 5, our new Elementary STEM Sampler, gives younger campers a hands-on taste of all four themes over 3 days. If you're unsure whether a specific week is the right fit, contact us and we'll help you decide.
What should my camper bring each day?
Just a water bottle and enthusiasm! Lunch is provided every camp day, along with all materials, projects, and the camp T-shirt/swag bag.
Is lunch provided?
Yes — lunch is provided for every camper, every day of camp, at no extra cost. Please let us know at registration about any food allergies or dietary needs.
What is the instructor-to-student ratio?
We keep it small and personal — 1 instructor for every 8 students. This ensures every camper gets hands-on guidance and attention throughout the week.
Is technology access required at home?
No — all devices and materials are provided during program hours. Removing that barrier is a core part of why Camp Genius exists.
